Colour blocking killers

One of the biggest trends around this summer is big bold colourful clothing that will turn heads and make a statement wherever you go. The only thing you have to watch is not to go overboard with the colour clashing. Two maybe three colours (with one more neutral colour) at the very most is plenty to let your outfit do the talking.

Cheryl Cole got it very wrong the last week when she showed up for the American X Factor announcement. The hair was just far too Dynasty and there were just too many colours going on with the outfit. It was just wrong, wrong, wrong.........it makes you wonder whether celebrities actually look in the mirror before they go out or they just trust their stylist....well think again Cheryl. This look has gone a step too far.

To help you not go so wrong here are a few fab frocks around at the moment which I like:

This cute little number is only £30 from ASOS and could be teamed with a colourful belt to add some extra colour but even a tan belt and shoes with some gold accessories would look lovely. Or just leave it as it is and let the dress make the statement. It comes in the lovely lemon colour or a more bold pink and camel colour.

The next dress is less of a statement bright colour blocking look rather more a the subtle nude colours look but its the sort of dress that is perfect for both the day or night - simply add heels and a blazer or flats & a cardie depending on the occasion. This is one I will definitely be purchasing for my summer wardrobe but the same style in blue skirt & cream top has already sold out & it only went on sale last week! Get it before its gone - at £35 its a bargain and one you will wear loads throughout the season

This next dress is a real glamazon colour blocking statement dress in bold orange that would be perfect for an abroad wedding. Its beautiful, floaty and sexy and would probably look best on someone who is tall & slim like this model! At £95 it is a bit more pricey but certainly a head turning dress and worth the investment just for the comments you will get in it.

Kylie Colour Block Dress

The dresses i have featured are self-made colour blocking that you can just buy and wear but it is easy enough to do yourself by adding a belt to break up the colour in a bold dress and create a block of colour at the top and bottom of a dress. Team a camel skirt and team with a red wine top and a black belt to create that blocking effect too. Have fun with it just be careful how many colours you incorporate especially if you already have a bright top and a bright skirt or pair of trousers, then maybe just add a tan or black belt to separate the colours without adding another bright colour.
Have fun & happy shopping : ) Love Bambi xxxx
