Unique Boutique - charity swapping

Apparently Women only wear 20% of the items hanging in their wardrobe, which is a shockingly small statistic but probably totally true when you reflext on what you wear on a day to day basis. We are therefore advised to regularly (once a year) give our wardrobe a good old cleanse in order to get rid of old, unworn and unused items, and to make way for new pieces. 

Personally I am a fan of a good wardrobe detox, not only do you often find items that have been hiding at the back of your wardrobe and you had forgotten about but you also tend to find a vast number of garments that for one reason or another you simply do not wear. 

With Spring most definitely in the air it is now the perfect time to undertake that wardrobe overhaul and three leading Welsh charities - Tenovus, Ty Hafan and Bobath, have come together to support the ideal event for a wardrobe cleanse called 'Unique Boutique'.

The event, taking place on Sunday 4th May at the Mercure Holland House on Newport Road in Cardiff aims to encourage fashion savvy ladies to bring down their once loved garments and donate them to a new home while having the chance to pick up some exciting new pieces for their SS14 wardrobe. Essentially its a swapping event....but any excuse to have a good rummage for some new items is always enticing...right?

The event will be hosted by Wenda James-Rowe from Cardiff's The Style Team and will include style make-overs, hair & beauty master classes and a pamper village, not to mention an abundance of stalls offering an eclectic mix of clothing and accessories. 

There are two ways to get involved, you can either book a stand and open up your wardrobe to the fashionistas of Cardiff or you can simply buy a ticket and enjoy rummaging through other people's unwanted and pre-loved garments.

The money raised from the Unique Boutique will go to three very good causes as it will help Tenovous who continues to support cancer patients and their families, Ty Hafan who offer comfort and support to life limited children and their families and Bobath who continue to offer a specialist treatment centre providing individually tailored therapy for children who have cerebral palsy and other allied neurological conditions.
