Top five tips to create the perfect hour glass figure

Whatever we think about our own individual size and shape, the one thing that we all desire is that sexy hour-glass figure that the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kelly Brooke, Katy Perry, Kate Winslet and Nicole Scherzinger channel on a daily basis.....and despite what you think we can all achieve this look by applying a few very simple tricks of the trade.

I don't know about you but I completely admire top models like Kate Moss. However, a pair of boobs, a curvy bum and a tiny waist are my most desired features and despite having a relatively boyish figure, I try to work every trick in the book to help me create that perfect hourglass figure.  When I say hourglass, you dont have to be Marilyn Monroe, you just have to create the illusion of the 32, 24, 32 - a curvy top, smaller waist and wider hips. Here are a few of my top tips on creating this perfect look.

  • Skater skirts/skater dresses
I am a huge fan of high waisted skater skirts and dresses, they help to create the illusion of curves on a boyish figures like myself and hide unwanted curves on more pear-shaped ladies. The result is a flawless, cute and playful look that can be achieved by all shapes and sizes.

  • Peplum tops

Peplum tops/dresses are also the perfect formula for helping to craft an hour-glass and curvy figure. They can be paired with a pair of skinny jeans and a pencil skirt and they help to nip in the waist to emphasize the smallest part of every woman's figure as well as hiding any lumps and bumps you don't want to show. The added joy of peplum tops is that they can be worn by curvy and boyish figures because they have benefits to both physiques. They are a staple garment that is needed in every woman's wardrobe.

  • Just add a belt
You can never go wrong with adding a belt to any outfit to help emphasize that waist. Everyone women, whatever your shape & size, has a waist hiding under every item of clothing and that is the narrowest area of your body which should be cherished and emphasized where possible. This is where the waist belt is the perfect and only necessary accessory in every wardrobe as it helps you to accentuate the area.

  • High waisted
Whatever you do high waisted jeans and skirts are the only way forward. Anything that sits on the hips simply emphasizes the largest most curviest part of any women's body. Therefore in order to again, highlight the smallest body part, all you need to do is opt for the high waisted version of jeans, trousers and skirts. This way the garments will skirt over the hips and follow the eye-line to the waist - the smallest area.

  • Avoid baggy loose fitting clothing
T-shirt dresses and baggy loose fitting tops do not flatter any figure, unless paired with a tight fitting skirt or pair of skinny jeans. They make curvy girls look bigger than they are and do nothing for slim boyish figures. Avoid at all costs or pair with a waist belt, where possible to nip in that waist and highlight the smallest area of your body.

These are the secret tips that I obey by where possible to help create the illusion of a fantastic curvy figure and it can work for you! Just apply where possible....

Happy shopping :) xxx
