SS13 trend - How to wear Whitewash

With the weather beginning to heat up and summer starting to feel like it might actually be on the horizon, another trend that seems to be getting high street airtime right now is the Whitewash. This palate cleanser is all about bright whites being worn together with eye-blinding clarity. When the colour takes a back seat, you really give the other details of your outfit a chance to say their piece, be that through cut, cloth or creation. You’ll be able to find everything your pure taste is looking for, fear not, because this trend stretches to every department, from top to toe.

This might be a trend that scares a few of you, but stick to the my principle of making the trend work for you. Simply adapt the trend to fit your body shape, style and lifestyle and wear items that maximise your individual body best bits!  For instance, if you are curvier and are conscious of your bum & thighs and wouldn't be seen dead in a pair of skinny white jeans, then opt for a fun feminine and full, high-waisted midi skirt. As this will pinch you in at the waist and falling to your calf and concealing your bum and thighs are required but still flattering your figure. Just have a ponder around the shops, have fun with the trend and you’ll find a way to wear this colour, I promise.

In the meantime here is some inspiration from British model Suki Waterhouse, who has been chosen to front French Connections new summer capsule wardrobe, White Lies.
