Winter warmers

Now that the crisp Winter weather is really starting to set in and our sights are set on the forthcoming festive period its time to seek out that cosy Winter coat that will protect us from the icy morning chill. If you are anything like me, I have had the same fur coat for the past three years that never fails to keep me warm and cosy throughout the Winter months. The reason for this is not necessarily because I simply love my good old H&M faux fur coat but because I haven't found anything that has caught my eye enough to invest.
However, maybe this year will be different, as coming from someone who is always looking for the next fashion fix, I am actually surprised myself that I have maintained the same Winter look for the past three years.....its almost a crime.

So on the hunt for my 2012/2013 Winter coat I have selected a some of my favourites from a range of my top retailers. From military, to boyfriend fit, quilted to fur, there really is something out there for every shape, size and style.

Im not quite sure this one will keep you warm but it will certainly help add a little sparkle to your winter wardrobe and as long as you team with a chunky knit, scarf, gloves & hat, you will turn heads as you strut down the street in this little number. Plus it ticks the box in the fashion stakes as it fits the military & embellished trend.
£46.99

This is a hot little number from Missguided, and the contrast sleeves are a hot trend this AW12 so again it ticks boxes in the fashion stakes. Tweed and leather are two very hot topics this year so its the perfect investment.

£49.99

If you want to steer away from the khaki trend and go for something with contrast sleeves that is a bit more subtle, this little baby is the perfect purchase. It comes complete with a faux fur collar for that added warmth and gives a cool, yet relaxed look to any outfit.

£49.99

Love this coat, not only does it have the fab contrasting leather sleeves, which as I have mentioned before is a style hit for AW12, it actually has a faux fur lining to keep you warm and cosy so would be a great investment for the forthcoming season.

£49.99

This coat is much more classic and chic, than some of the earlier coats which are more edgy, however it is still bang on trend and perfect for a winter walk in the country. It has a lovely fit too, as its nips in at the waist to create a flattering, smart, heritage look.
£35

You cant you wrong with a faux fur coat in my mind. They are cosy, warm and chic, and create a consistently on trend look when teamed with whatever you are wearing. A definite hit for AW12 in my mind and for £60 its a steal.
£60

This purple coat is a gorgeous colour. A lot of Winter coats are not in warming, bright colours but you definitely won't be missed in this coat. Not only is it chic and feminine it is classic and smart too, but also warm and cosy, especially with the added faux fur collar, which I am guessing is also detachable.
£50

This coat is almost too cool for school and will definitely only suit the edgier fashionista. The fit is loose and relaxed yet chic and smart too. It also ticks the box in the style stakes with the tweed body and contrast leather sleeves. One to consider for the AW12 season!?
Alice Collarless Wool Mix Jacket
£80

This is the ultimate military jacket. Its chic and classic and has a lovely fit to nip you in at the waist to create a lovely silhouette shape.

Sergeant Belted Military Coat
£89

Again a classic, cosy, teddy bear style faux fur coat. I just want to cosy up in this and know it'll keep me warm all winter. This ticks the box for me but I am a big fur fan so its definitely one for me. Although its identical to my current coat from H&M just in a different colour!
Teddy Fur Pea Coat
£98

This is another example of a classic heritage style coat with the added peplum that gives it a modern twist. Its chic and smart and has a lovely very feminine fit to it.

Boucle Tobacco Skirted Coat
£75

Relaxed & cool, boyfriend coat with a lovely cosy faux fur collar.
Textured Car Coat
£89

I hope these have given you food for thought & wet your appetite for some good old WInter coat shopping.

Happy Shopping!!

Loving the contrasting sleeves on the tweed and leather one, and both the military style jackets are beautiful!
