The toys are coming to town

This week mark's the opening of iconic toy store, Hamleys in Cardiff, and the first first ever store on Welsh soil. The store opens on Thursday 15 November in St David's 2 and brings with it 250 years of magic, fun, theatre and entertainment to the Welsh capital.

Many of the iconic features from their other stores will be on show in Cardiff including the Hamleys Bus, which will be driving all the New Toys to Town. The Rally Track, where you can test your driving skills with an array of radio control cars being demonstrated and also petal tables where children of a young age can sit and play with the toys till their heart is content.

Hamleys brand new girl’s boutique, Luvley, will also be a key feature in the Cardiff store, and will be displayed inside the Luvley House. This is a new concept for Hamleys and has proven a hit so far, with its Luvley nails, glitter tattoos and tangle teezer proving especially popular. The Luvley girls will be in store every day so whether it’s make up, jewellery or the latest fashion accessory you are looking for, it’s all Luvley in there!

With 1000’s of different toys they aim to bring the people of Cardiff the variety they want as well as delivering the Hamleys Theatre and Magic every day. You can book your child’s Birthday Party here, which will be held in their Party Room with entertainment, fun and games as well as a Hamleys Goody Bag to take home with them.

Gudjon Reynisson, CEO of Hamleys said “Hamleys is very excited to be opening in Cardiff’s St David’s Centre. Our unique retail proposition of fun, theatre and entertainment we are sure will prove a hit and we are looking forward to working closely with the St Davids Centre to bring the Hamleys experience to the people of Wales.

Steven Madeley, Centre Director at St David’s Dewi Sant, comments: “We are extremely excited about the arrival of Hamleys to St David’s. The magical toy store has the ability to not only excite the young children of today but also spark fond memories from our own childhood. As Hamleys is as much a visitor attraction as a toyshop, we hope it will also help to bring in even more visitors to Cardiff city centre this Christmas.”

I am such a big kid at heart that I think I will be checking it out, for my niece's and nephew's christmas presents of course!!!
