One person's junk is another person's treasure

We all know that charity shops can have some real fashion gems and Tenovus Wales, the leading cancer charity has launched a new campaign to help boost donations to their shops. The 'Your Fashion Funds Us' campaign aims to encourage people to donate their old and unwanted items to their shops so that they can help raise more money for cancer patients across Wales. As a fashionista I am always finding items in my wardrobe that I no longer like, don't want or simply don't wear anymore, and am always setting aside. I myself make twice yearly trips to charity shops to donate bags of unwanted clothes, shoes and handbags, most of which is in pretty good condition but I just don't want anymore.

Apparently one bag of clothing makes on average £20 for the shop, which means that £20 can continue to provide services such as treating people closer to home on their Mobile Cancer Support Unit, bereavement counselling and keeping their freephone cancer support line open 7 days a week.

Liz Rawlins, Campaign Manager, at Tenovus said “Every single item donated to any one of our shops raises vital funds that enable us to support cancer patients and their families across Wales.

Tenovus are also encouraging people to take a look at what’s on offer in their shops - they held a photoshoot with Tenovus staff who were styled head-to-toe toe by stylist Dawn [ http://www.dressmeperfect.com/ ] in clothing and accessories purchased from Tenovus’ shops in Cardiff and the Vale.
