Jazzy pants - patterned summer trousers

This SS14 I can't get enough of all the patterned trousers that are dominating the rails in retail outlets across the UK.  Not only are they the perfect way to jazz up your summer wardrobe, they are a great way to add a fun and a splash of colour to your day to day ensemble. Whether your runway is the office, a party or a high street, these are a wardrobe essential for SS14. 

As my obsession with 'jazzy pants' as we call them in our office, grows, I currently find myself consistently drawn to them when I enter any store. There is such an amazing array of eclectic and exciting prints to choose from in a selection of cuts and colours.  Whether you like joggers, jeans, tapered cigarette pants or harem pants there is a cut to suit all body shapes and sizes. Tropical prints seem to be particularly popular for the summer but there is also plenty of monochrome and brightly coloured floral, aztec, animal and tribal prints to catch your eye. 

Just apply a few simple rules:

• If you are short - keep the trousers narrow and relatively fitted but high waisted to elongate your leg. if you do opt for the wide leg, get the high waisted option and add a pair of heels to make your legs look long.
• If you do not like your legs and feel that they are wide or chunky opt for small print set on a dark background and always invest in the tapered cigarette pants or the looser joggers but avoid the wide leg and large prints.
• If you are tall - you are lucky and can generally wear and jazzy trouser you like  

We are so obsessed with jazzy pants in our office that we even had a day in their honour where everyone in the office came in wearing jazzy patterns - here is a picture below - mine are the blue ones with black & white flowers.
